The notion of having baby pictures in a passport seems silly. By the time Eli is even 1 year old, he won't resemble his passport picture. Yet, rules are rules. So we picked up the portraits this morning and submitted them, along with a mountain of other paperwork, to the State Department for passport processing.
We also stopped by the pediatrician yesterday. Eli is now tipping the scales at 11 Lb, 14 Oz. He is still very small for his age, approximately the 5th percentile.

We just got Elizabeth's passport a couple of months ago (the post office, it turns out, is willing take appropriately goofy-looking passport pictures of babies) and it took about 1.5 weeks to arrive. We were amazed--I guess the government finally hired enough people to process applications.
Is it possible that Eli is getting even cuter?
